American actress Catherine Ann Keener was born on March 26, 1959. She has played sympathetic, resentful, and melancholy women in supporting roles in both independent and mainstream movies.
She received two nominations for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress: once for Being John Malkovich (1999) and once for Capote (2005), in which she played novelist Harper Lee.
Her first line in a movie was in About Last Night (1986).
