How Many Golden Girls are Still Alive?

The Golden Girls is a popular American sitcom that aired on NBC from 1985 to 1992. The sitcom won several awards like the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, three Golden Globe Awards for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy and each of the four casts received an Emmy Award.

The sitcom was about four older ladies (three widows and one divorcee) sharing a house. The show was produced by Paul Junger Witt, Tony Thomas, and Harris.

The show dwelled on their friendship, relationships and struggles in a comical way. The casts were mainly four ladies, Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan, and Estelle Getty

How Many Golden Girls are Still Alive?

Betty White was the last living Golden Girl but she died on December 31, 2021. Bea Arthur who starred as Dorothy Zbornak died of lung cancer at the age of 86 in 2009.

Rue McClanahan who was Blanche Devereaux, a southern belle in the sitcom died in 2010 from complications from a stroke.

Finally, Estelle Getty who played the role of Sophia Petrillo, Dorothy’s mother died in 2008 at the age of 84 from dementia.

The Golden Girls may all be dead but we can say they all lived eventful lives.
